My Profile Marianne
My love of animals, especially horses, has
governed my life. Though born in Sydney, I spent
the 60's, in Melbourne, where milk was still
delivered by horse and cart. Every free moment
was spent at their stables, in the inner
Brighton suburbs.
On moving
to Perth, I acquired an old /young stable
master, who I owe my every horse sense to. Week
ends full of Show Jumping, Hunting,
Novelties, Shows, general horsing around and
photos....of horses of course.
Once my two children started school in SA in the
80's, I rekindled my interests and moved into
carriage driving, where we excelled in the
single pony classes of Combined Driving.
This echoed my days in the west but jumping now
gave way to marathon and driving obstacles.
I qualified as Presentation, Dressage judge, T.D.
and Course Designer. Then, my every spare moment
was spent, working horses for show and CDE,
educating youngstock, hand stitching new
driving harness to use, ...and photos, which I
always gave away.
Since retiring from driving, after winning at
the Rymill International Event at Young in 1997,
we are horseless for the first time and I have
returned to my Art and Photography.
I have painted in oils for many years, when time
has allowed, with many Landscape and Still Life,
in private collections. I also enjoy the
challenge of animal portraits in pastel and of
course my photos. My spare time now, when not
painting, ..........is spent on the computer
